I have the giant allium ostrowskianum, which I grew on the north side of my
home in a bed, and one in a bed facing east. This was their first year,
and they were beautiful. Didn't do anything special except planted them
very deep. i will be moving one of them as their leaves turned out to be
huge, circling an area 24 inches across. I read somewhere that they move
beautifully, like any other bulb. I had planted one in a partial shade
garden, and it didn't come up at all. Who knows. 2 out of 3 makes me
happy, and got them 75% off at the fall bulb sale last November anyway...
