Plant in Fall



>Anyone else debunk the "plant-in-the-fall" rule? 

We try to avoid planting new plants in the Fall. We just have not had 
good luck here in zone 5 in Southwestern Lower Michigan. Weather is just 
too unpredictable-just cannot be sure they will get established. Would 
not have been a problem this season as we still had flowers in bloom 
until last week but last season we had an early winter. We do have 
success though with transplanting and even division of perennial's but 
here we are talking about older plants.
