If you like Lupine like plants you might want to try THERMOPSIS caroliniana
-"Carolina Lupine" (ther-MOP-sis) syn T. villosa. Plant in full sun zone 3.
Bright golden yellow
pea-like flowers in spikes 6 - 12" long. Nice attractive blue green foliage.
flowers are in erect compact terminal racemes. 3 -5 feet tall and 24"
wide. Blooming in May and June. Grow in light well drained soils that are
fertile and in full sun. Usually very long lived. does not like root
disturbance once planted. Grown for their attractive leaves
and lupine like yellow flowers.
Galega can be grown in any moist soil that is well draining in part shade to
full sun. They are invasive once established. Stems need to be staked when in
flower. To start from seeds, soak seeds over night (6-8) hours in warm water
and plant in place or sow in a deep container. G.officinalis is most likely
the most common species and is native from Southern Europe and Turkey. Plants
should be hardy in zones 5-9.
