Assoc. of Specialty Cut Flower Growers named its Fresh and Dried
Cut Flowers of the Year winners for 2000. Fresh variety: Rudbeckia
hirta Indian Summer, which has large, golden-yellow flowers and
dark-brown centers. Dried variety: Echinops ritro, also known as globe
thistle, with metallic-blue ball-shaped flowers. judy@ascfgf.org;

* Clematis serratifolia Kugotia (Golden Tiara) was awarded a
certificate of merit and the Valarasan-Toomey award for the best new
clematis variety for 1999 by the British Clematis Society. Plants
entered in the societys trials are judged on various criteria including
plant habit, flowering, general effect and novelty.

I saw this Clematis in England four years ago. It was so unique, I shipped
it home.... now you can buy it locally.
