These titles do not exactly fit you description, but touch upon the general
theme.
Try "Hedgemaids & Fairy Candles" by Jack Sanders. "The Life & Lore of North
American Wildflowers". I found it to be very entertaining. Often brought a smile
while reading. A bit more academic, but still entertaining was "The History &
Folklore of North American Wildflowers" by Timothy Coffey. "Wildflower Folklore"
by Laura C. Martin" was an OK, but nothing great. Bit short on text and detail in
my opinion, but did make a quick read.
When I was a teen ager I remember reading "The Black Rose" by Thomas B.
Costain. They may have transferred it from stone tablets to real paper by now. See
if you can find information on Japanese and Chinese heraldry. Full of plant
history and plants of power.
