Margaret...
Cypress vine - but not a perennial
Clematis - don't know if h'birds at attracted to it - try red flowering
cultivars - if south facing, might need some shade for the roots
Honeysuckle - try red flowering cultivars of H. semperviriens, such as
'Cedar Lane' or 'Alabama Crimson'
