Re: Another Front Yard Problem

Lillian,

have you tried caladiums? Highly variegated leaves in shades of pink,
white, and green and the plant loves shade. Plant with hostas and ferns.
What about coleus? Impatiens? Foxglove?

Better yet, get a Shady Oaks catalog or a Plants Delight catalog. Both
outfits feature plants that love shade and have more varieties that you
could shake a stick at. But what I think you may end up doing if you want
to break the green monotony is to go with variegation, burgundy foliage, or
intersperse some annuals with your perennials. Experiment with texture to
get a break, too.
