Donna -- You probably didn't do anything wrong. Even the perennial foxgloves
usually do not bloom the first season. I'll bet yours will come back and
bloom this year.
By the way, I grow Digitalis x mertonensis and I would call it more of a pink
or rose than a red. It is lovely, though, and a great plant. --Janis
