Donna:
    Stock is an annual plant which likes cool weather.  It does really well
in the spring and fall but usually melts in the heat of summer.  If you
plant it in a pot you can move it into a more shady area for summer.  That
is what I did last year.  The blooms smell delicious and spicy.  Mine
reached a height of about 14 inches last year.  They come in various colors
and are quite beautiful. Hope this helps.
