At a time when we were raising rabbits for 4-H, I was told that the only manure applied directly without aging, that wouldn't hurt growing things, was rabbit manure.   Char,zone5

Take care with "hot" manure...I spread some inadvertantly a year ago (before
taking the whiff test) and the shrubs did not take kindly to such treatment.
If it's fresh and it sits in a heap, it takes about a year to be really safe
enough. It's the urine that's the biggest culprit.
