Hi all,
Last year I had a real problem with chlorosis of lilies (oriental
lilies). Some of you advised me to use fertilizer with chelated iron,
which I did, and it corrected the problem for a while, then the new
leaves would grow out and be chlorotic again, etc. I shouldn't have to do
this all the time, I don't think. I bought a pH tester and that bed is
6.2-6.5 throughout, which is a smidge more acid than the neutral soil
that's average for here, since I've been using pine needles for mulch. I
looked around to find the proper pH for them, and have found sources
saying that they require lime and others that they require acidity. Do
you think it's the pH (one way or another) or a trace element or
fertility problem? Other flowers don't seem to have any trouble...
including asiatic lilies.
I'd really appreciate the input here, I'm stumped. (and love lilies).
