perennial annuals

This is addressed to you in climates warmer than zone 6--- we've had a
super mild winter and some of my "annuals" that are perennial in warm
places, like petunias, never killed off. Do you all just cut them back
and let them bloom again? or is the performance disappointing compared to
younger plants?

			Thanks,
			Mary, zone 6 MO
