[fernet]: Re: Ferns for erosion control/Texas

All, a call for ecological awareness and a strong confirmation for Onoclea
sensibilis below.

Judith of Fancy Fronds could certainly respond to questions of invasiveness
etc. on the previous suggestions: http://fancyfronds.com/ I'm sure she
carries Onoclea sensibilis, very possibly the others.

I'm uncomfortable about introducing a foreign species for erosion
control.

Onoclea sensibilis is extremely deer resistant even in droughts (as
evidenced) in the forests here in central New Jersey with an incredible
excess population of white-tailed deer. It spreads easily by spores
(there is a patch outside my window, and I repeatedly get sporelings in
my terraria after a summer with the windows open).

Very best,

Rod
