Re: Erythronium

Gene, I don't know of a paper on native Erythronium.  But there is an
extensive listing, with distribution maps, on the Plants National Database at:

http://plants.usda.gov/plants/cgi_bin/topics.cgi

There are no descriptions or photos there, but you could print out the list
and that would be a start.

You said earlier today that Erythronium are best planted late summer to early
winter.  I live in Missouri where the trout lilies start blooming in March.
I want to order some.  Should I get them and put them in now, or would I be
well advised to wait until the end of summer?  --Janis

Hello Janis & Bill Lee,
Is anyone aware of a paper on the eastern US species of Erythronium? =
Sure would be a handy reference to have for following a collector's =
trail.
