    Thanks for the database address... had that one once and forgot to save it in my folder. Will do a search on erythronium and couple of other plants I have on my list to learn more about.
    This is all weather related, of course, but you should be safe on shipment of Erythronium during February. That is assuming your garden is ready to receive them. Mine are outside in pots riding with the local weather. If you can get them settled into the garden, I can ship safely for a bit.

Gene, I don't know of a paper on native Erythronium.  But there is an
extensive listing, with distribution maps, on the Plants National Database at:

There are no descriptions or photos there, but you could print out the list
and that would be a start.  

You said earlier today that Erythronium are best planted late summer to early
winter.  I live in Missouri where the trout lilies start blooming in March.  
I want to order some.  Should I get them and put them in now, or would I be
well advised to wait until the end of summer?  --Janis
