There are four species of Erythronium native east of the Mississippi River.
Assuming no name changes they are:
E. americanum, with some diffrent forms including diffrent shades of yellow
flowers and some with red anthers.
E. albidum, plus Var. mesochoreum, which does not have lateral offshoots
like the normal form but instead produces new corms each year.
E. propullans, A small species with pinkish flowers. That lives only in two
counties in Minnesota and at the most only about 400 plants are left, each
plant has grown into large colonies of clones.
The fourth species is from the South and I do not have any information on
that one.
