Susan, I have grown Dictamnus for years (they are very long lived) and do nothing special. No gravel, no sand, etc. Just plopped them in years ago. :) They are very slow to reappear in the spring, so maybe folks think they are goners and dig them out? I've always wanted to try it, never been able to find it locally. Finally mail ordered it this year. I hear from a friend in Oregon that he has lost it many times. That they require quite good drainage. Anyone have any suggestions for soggy Oregon? Fill the hole with 1/2 gravel half compost? What do you think? Thanks for your help. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE PERENNIALS
