Paul, perhaps you'd say a few words on germination of Platycodon. My plants,
tall ones and a few dwarfs set seed. The seed never germinates outdoors on
it's own.
I should maybe say something about saving you own seed-Platycodon set a lot of seed and are easy to collect-just wait till the capsules start to split at the top-cut them off and put in a try and allow to dry at room temps for a week or two-then pour out the seeds into a try and allow to dry for three weeks at room temps out of sunlight.
You can store them in the fridge for at least 5 years, maybe a lot longer and start some every year.
They make nice cutting material and if you have the space-can't have to many.
