I bought a blue corydalis last year that may be a C. elata. It's name is 'ex dufu Temple'. The foliage never died back and is still flourishing. The flowers were blue and long lasting.
I'm not sure that C. lutea is the troublesome one, at least not here in Cincinnati. C. flavia may be the weedy one. I think lutea may be a little less robust here and I know people who have actually lost it.
Depending on which references you consult, you can find a lot of confusion in corydalis specific epithets. And very few books will list the same ones.
