the diffence between the two species is:
cordata is a little more hardy Zone 4 or more, it is less invasive, the
"flowers" are more whitish.
your selection of M. microparpa has been around since the 1920's a has
copperypink colored "flowers" and is less invasive than the normal species
with nice cinnamon colored leaves.
