Assuming Zone 13 means it never freezes in Chandler, it sounds like your
idea with the tile will work. If it does freeze, and if you're talking
about something like bathroom tile with a porous back, the tiles will absorb
water and the face will split off in a freeze. But that's not likely to
happen when the roses are in bloom.
