We have had ours out for several winters but the coldest its gotten here in
the last few years was 23o and only for a few hours....it would seem that in
severe winter areas that water would drip down between the globe and the
base continually freezing and swelling...eventually breaking the globe....if
I lived in such a climate I would bring it in......The racoons hate ours and
broke our first one that was by the ponds and lower to the ground. They
don't wear a little mask for nothing you know!!!!
