Glazing balls

I would use tacky tape or floral sticky tape. You can still get the
glass ball out but it is harder to do and might help with keeping little
hands off it but the wind will take them out too. I am using bowling
balls covered in glass. They are too heavy for most to pick up but they
do tend to roll down hill.
