That's true, Gene. And I'm sure some didn't survive the handling I described.
But Mertensia virginica is not all that difficult a plant to grow.

You're warmer than we are here in Cincinnati, Gene. I've looked but seen no
sign yet that the bluebells are beginning to emerge. And just as well too
with the sudden return of winter temperatures.
