And cynical me, I thought they were picking names that weren't as
appealing for the general market so that their trademarked names
could bring in more money in a more 'monopolized' market when the
plant patent expires.

Of course, it also violates nomenclatural rules, but who cares. Those
are for stodgy old taxonomists anyhow, right? :)
Well, I've seen both sides of the fence on this one. ;-)) The cynic in most of us nursery people would have to agree with Tony A's article - unfortunately. I for one would like it to be different but...
