RE: clematis viticella varieties


No, I haven't Bill.  In fact, my only "white" Clematis died a lingering
death and was finally put to rest.  That one was Guernsey Cream -
purportedly yellow - not.  A nice white flower on a dark shrub background is
a beautiful sight!

Marilyn, have you tried Clematis 'Gillian Blades'? For me it does not grow
vigorously, although that may be a problem of location. It's flowers are
enormous, pure white, and often show "diamond dusting." I wouldn't be
without
this one.
