I have several ferrets as pets and one of my kiddies
was raised outdoors in an old chicken coop and learned
to eat anything that came within biting distance as a
kit.
When the weather is nice, I put little Shy Violet on a
leash and take her into the garden where she will eat
her weight (15 oz) in slugs....she digs them out from
under rocks and from corners and prefers the small
tender ones. Especially this time of year, Shy Violet
is ready to do slug duty.
Sadly my other 2 ferrets wouldn't touch a slug unles
it was covered with kibble.
I now bait for slugs in every area but one garden
where I let Shy Violet roam to her delight.
I've tried beer before but didn't get the results I
expected-just pour beer into a pie pan was what I was
told to do.
