Re: roots and rhizones

Has anyone on this list ever ordered from Roots and Rhizomes in
Randolph, Wisconsin? I see some very nice things in their catalogue and
their zone matches well enough for Illinois that I trust their hardiness
advice. They have some lovely daylilies and it seems like the price
isn't too bad and there are other plants that look good (nice red
Astrantias, Jack Frost Brunnera, etc. ... yummy). But I wonder about the
wisdom of bareroot shipping for some of the perennials??? BTW, they say
Omphalodes verna starry eyes is zone 5. I had one and lost it, but now I
don't remember if I lost it to winter or to a blazing humid summer ...
Any one tried it? It is very cute in shade.

I wasn't very impressed - I received stuff that was dead for mid-May shipment. Not all the daylilies are AHS registered names. (if you want to find "inexpensive" daylilies drop me a note off list)

To their credit, they refunded my money on the dead ones. And were very pleasant to deal with. I think they are an off shot of Khelm.
