Fleece?  Is this something you wrap the bushes with? Is it like the white row-cover fabric?  I have some of a grade that insulates 10 extra degrees and some that is lighter weight.

 

And Don, yes, when I stooled the lilac last week it was already budding out which is why I was worried.  Not worried about the bloom as I know there won’t be any. Just worried about the overall health of the shrub.

 

I just noticed today that my lovely little rockgarden iris are in bloom with the crocuses.

Always a problem even here Don so we use fleece on the most vulnerable. Course we're not Orangutans fleecing tall trees so we tend to look for the hardy trees and plants.

Just maybe a day but not 6 weeks.  Still not done yet.  Today plants were wilting in heat.  Daffodils were lasting a long time with cool night and cool days but 75 plus is hot.

It is not winter here in Tennessee.  Spring Beauties, bloodroot, and the best daffodils I have ever seen.  Large blooms, smooth surface, substance...beautiful.  Now the cold will come back but I will enjoy the best hellebores and daffodils I ever remember seeing.  Nancy
