I grow geraniums (pelargoniums) in full sun in Southern California, where
it gets into the 100s. They don't seem to mind at all as long as you give
them sufficient water. I also have some which grow in filtered shade.
Either way, they're happy, although I'd say those situated in the sun
usually flower more.
I have some bergenias and they grow in filtered shade under elms and flower
occasionally. Maybe I would do better to put them in the sun!
Your proposed garden sounds beautiful!
