Russian Comfrey

I recently read about Russian comfrey, a plant which contains higher
potassium than farm manure and is better for composting. Has anyone any
comments on this, is it readily available or do you know where I may find
it. The article I read said the leaves can be cut and left overnight to
wilt, then directly put down as a mulch. Does any one know if this actually
works? I'll be interested to hear from you. Karen 5b Michigan
