Hi Mark,
Sounds like your climate is very similar to ours - both in temp and wet -
except we are a tad colder -8C this year. My Gauras have no trouble with
the winters (about 4 years now) and are showing new growth at the base - at
least 1 Crambe died in gal. pot, but others are slightly enlarged buds from
almost parsnip sized roots. I think both need the best drainage possible in
our climates. We are on a hillside with soil 1 step up for sand and gravel.
