In a message dated 98-02-25 11:34:30 EST, you write:
<< What about a garden where all the flowers contained therein has something
to
do with birds, i.e. cardinal flower, hawkweed, etc. Any suggestions of
plants to include? Or you could add butterflies, i.e. whirling butterflies,
etc. >>
Grant Mitsch Daffodils in Canby Oregon has been hybridizing daffodils for many
years, over 50 I believe (two generations) and they have named dozens of their
cultivars after birds, everything from Mockingbird to Quail to more exotic
birds like Takahe. They should be good in your garden. Plus the American
Daffodil Society has a slide show for rent titled Birds and Their Daffodil
Namesakes. email me privately if you want either the Mitsch address of the
Society address.
