Re: Winter Interest

Hey Montana Myrna....and Chicago Anne

Problems with borders and boundaries, eh?( Yes, I know...a very Canadian
expression...).
Well ...have no fear......There is always a solution. Here's how I solved
a particular problem relating to confinement.

One of my neighbours dropped over (he was in good health, too)....rather,
walked over for a visit while I was planting more bulbs last fall. He stated
the obvious, that I was ''soon to run out of room". He continued and said
... ( jokingly, I'm sure)...that if I wanted to do any more planting , I
could use his back lawn.

  I smiled.

  Then I grinned.

Much later that night, while the world..( at least the eastern
seaboard)...was asleep, I crept over to his back lawn. Quietly letting the
sack slide off my shoulder, I naturalized dozens of King Alfreds and many
more muscari.

Come blossom time, I'll just mention to him that " Perhaps the
squirrels were responsible.........but.... it is amazing how those little
critters followed the same colour (British spelling. We we're here first)
scheme that I have in my lawn!"

I can hardly wait for spring.

       . ....Neil...in N.B.
