Leslie, the best advice I have found about
interpreting soil tests is from a local natural
fertilizer store. There isn't much about it that
Dale doesn't know, and even an Advanced Master
Gardener values all the good advice available.
One of the neat things about his help is that soil
tests here don't normally include minor or trace
elements required by plants, and some of the
choices about supplementing the deficiencies that
are reported easily cover those too. I have
started using corn glutinin(?), rock phosphate and
green sand for nitrogen, phosphate and potasium
supplements in my mixed perenial beds, but can't
see paying that much to do the same for the amount
of lawn I still have left. Maybe when I have
grass whittled down further!
