Whoops....got a little distracted and behind on our e-mail reading.
'Microfoam' is a man made 'mulch'. It is some form of styrofoam that is
flexible....We think it's the same stuff that they make packing material
from. The difference though, is that it comes in 6 foot wide rolls and has
‰ eighth inch holes, punched into it on a regular basis. One can also buy
it fused to white plastic, although it is much more expensive that way.
Unfortunately, our catalogue with exact details is up at the garden in
Connecticut, we recently bought a roll of, quarter inch X 6 foot X 225
feet, for $166.30 (U.S.)
We sandwhich the microfoam between white plastic on the top and clear on
the bottom to make a blanket (mulch). The white plastic (we think) blocks
out 55% on the light, but also helps hold in the natural heat of the
earth...That way, on sunny days it doesn't get too warm, and doesn't let a
lot of the warmth to radiate out.
We hope this answers your question, but if not, please ask more......Again,
sorry for the delay in answering.
