Hi all,
Since I first posed the question of how to eradicate English ivy, I have
been doing some research on my own. I have found that there is a stronger
Round-Up that is for brush and we may try that. The lady at one of our
local garden centers said to cut as much down as we could with a weed eater
and then apply a 'non-specific herbicide'...does that mean stuff like
round-up?
Also, about favorite vines...yesterday I bought a clematis 'jackmanii'
that that had overwintered at the garden center and was putting out new
growth for $6. They are getting rid of stock from last year and I felt like
I got a good bargain. We are also growing carolina jessamine on a trellis
that my husband built on one side of the deck. We have not seen it bloom
yet, so I am really excited to see what it does this first year. It has
yellow fragrant blossoms.
