(Sending this again on Tuesday, Feb. 9-- C'mon you guys, any thoughts??)
Hi folks,
The mystery is solved. I looked again at the label on the box of my bulbs.
They are definitely, "Siberica lily."
My trusty "Sunset Western Garden Book" tells nothing about this variety. It
does say that most lilies in my area should have their roots in the shade,
foliage in sun or partial shade, good drainage, medium water, and that they
should bloom in June-July.
I have a spot in mind to plant them, but await anyone's comments. Does
anyone have any idea whether I would expect bloom this year? And how deep
should they be planted? Similar-sized lily bulbs were given a suggested
depth of 6" in my WGB.
For now the bulbs are in a dry, protected part of my porch (it's 36 degrees
and rainy out).
Thanks in advance for everyone's comments,
Sue P.
