you have come across with some great information.  I'm afraid that any
effort is going to be in vain.  It looks like it's gonna be about 3
nights of below freezing tempertures . of course it will warm up in the
day time, but I'm really concerned.
this happens every year it seems.    I think in the future I will avoid
flowering plants that bloom in the early spring.   of course this is
Feb. and not spring,   but our weather pattern has be weird to say the
least in recent years.

according to your observations and directions  I might be able to save
all but the magnolia, because they are now in full bloom and both trees
are approx.  9 to 10 feet tall, and there is no way that I can cover
them.    Oh !!  how I wish for one year to see them in full bloom and be
able to enjoy them for just a little while.

I will take your advice and prepare the others for that artic blast that
is headed our way
