Maria, I think you're a little bit warmer there in Maryland than I here in
Cincinnati, but I have planted these out in late March into April. I'd try to
keep it growing as a houeplant until then. They don't always survive the
winters here, but more do than don't. I have some of those dark blue ones
blooming outside near the house right now.
