Re: Garden Happiness

Karin,

Your experience amazed me. It makes the problems of rabbits
eating the plants seem rather insignificant. I remember
reading an article in a magazine a year or two ago about
gardening in Alaska. The author had similar problems to
you, but with snow virtually covering up small trees in
winter. He thought though that he was in rather a
privileged position as far as gardening was concerned
because he didn't have the tremendously hot summers that the
rest of the US does, so in mid-summer his garden still
looked good and fresh, whereas most other people's gardens
just looked tired and brown. Perhaps you agree with him?

Thanks to everyone for sharing their winter garden's
experience with us. I've enjoyed reading them.

Where the garden is still looking surprisingly green, not
much has died back despite the killer frosts we had a couple
of weeks ago, although I think I've lost my Echiums.
