Salzburg - Mirabella gardens (I THINK that's the name - it's been 10
years!) Wonderful formal garden seen in the movie The Sound of Music.
Standing on the steps, one has a breath taking view of the Hohen
Salzburg (the fortress on the hill), whilst the garden spreads out
beneath you. Lots of wonderful gargoyle statues and herb knots. I'm
sure if you searched The Sound of Music, there would be some mention of
it. A wonderful respite in the middle of a beautiful city.
If it rains, keep an eye out for the giant red slugs - it will make you
think our little brown ones are a pittance - I slipped on one and almost
fell off a mountain! It was the size of my shoe!
How I envy you - can I stow away in your suitcase????
