RE: Snow Drops & other bulbs

Claire,
Snowdrops and Crocus also self sow all over the place here, but they are so
early and so welcome, I don't care. Now Tulips are another story. They are
great the first year, not so great the second, looking pretty sad by the
third. I have finally given up on them - they aren't cheap. Daffs are
another story, they just keep going. I have some clumps that are 20+ years
old. I much prefer the smaller Daffs like Tete a tete and Minnow. They
don't flop face down in the mud during spring rains like the tall ones do.
Although there is nothing more cheerful than a vase of the tall Daffs on the
kitchen table. Well, it won't be too much longer until the bulbs start
blooming , maybe another month.
Chris has some really nice pix of Galanthus nivalis on his web site at
http://www.hort.net/gallery/view/ama/galni/. Nice photo gallery Chris!
