Thanks to those of you who wrote with all your suggestions for Spring
flowering plants and those for dry shade. I'd never heard of the
Antennarias before. Looked it up in my gardening encyclopedia and it looks
like something I had flowering in my garden last year. I'm sure mine isn't
an Antennaria but it certainly looks similar. Nice little thing.
The Dodecatheon as well - my daughter and I were looking at pictures
yesterday. Am I right in thinking that, although tiny, this needs to be
more of a specimen plant than out in the border generally?
So the Asarum is a ginger. I didn't realise that. Love it's glossy leaves
and will definitely get a plant.
I'll spend some time looking up all your other suggestiuons, and see what
sort of a list I can come up with. There are so many plants to find out
about. Looking forward to this.
