I, also, cannot keep A. blanda going. However, my neighbor can - hers is
growing in almost desert conditions, it seems to me, in sun, in very sandy
soil on the southwest corner of her house about one foot away from the
foundation and about three feet away from a downspout. So maybe it's the
warmth from the foundation, and fast drainage with some (?) water that may
get to the corms from the downspout. Go figure.
