Hello Paul,
    You can collect the seeds a bit early and get away with it. Watch for the
first darkening of color to show up in seed pod. Clip with a bit of stem, place in
a paper bag where they can breathe. Thumbtack to a rafter or something in the
garage. Only every 2nd or 3rd day using this method. Seeds will continue ripening,
explode into the bag. Clean at leisure.
