Nancy,
Definitely plant some daffodils in with the daylilies. Some good garden
varieties are those designated Wister Award winners by the American
Daffodil Society. They are:
Stratosphere
Accent
Ice Follies
Sweetness
Ceylon
Salome
Peeping Tom
Rapture
Intrigue
Tripartite
Golden Aura
Bravoure
And on that cyclone fence, I'd plant some clematis. For me, 'Polish
Spirit' is a long blooming purple variety that would look good with
yellow daylilies and Perovskia and Verbena Bonariensis.
