Scented geraniums

Hi Folks,
Please don't think I am whining <G> but this year my pelargoniums
(scented geraniums) froze for the first time. Normally they are
evergreen here in south Texas but we had 16 degrees on January 3 and
everything froze.
I was wondering if anyone has any idea if they will come back in the
spring or if they are actually goners. Each plant had covered a very
large area and were ground covers for me so they will be sorely missed
if dead. :-(
