Well, I usually take lots of cuttings in the fall but only took 3 of the
variegated one this year. This past spring I wound up planting at least
50 rooted cuttings left AFTER giving away as many as I could and since
they have always been 'evergreen' here I figured I had more than
enough.
Live and learn. You can bet that when I start over I will take cuttings
next fall! That should be insurance against a nasty freeze again.

Thanks! Most folks don't feel sorry for us down south since they have a
shorter growing season but most also don't realize that many southerners
envy those who actually *have* seasons and know what to expect. :-)

I also had other 'evergreen' plants freeze that have never frozen here
such as aristolochia, butterfly pea vine, castor bean trees, passion
vines, orchid trees, etc. Going to be an interesting spring seeing what
all comes back. Even some of my roses were hit and lost leaves! Sigh.
