Haven't been able to track this one down yet but will continue.
The Sanguisorba you mentioned sounds interesting: S. canadensis 'Variegata'
says moist soil but it's 4-5' and bears "large, white dense flower clusters",
sun to part shade...very tempting - think I need this one elsewhere.
